VSTwain Source Error

When calling Device.open, I get a VSTwain Source Error.
"General failure in response to DAT_CAPS. Bad protocol error."

The program works fine on one computer, but on the Wyse R90L7 Thin Client running Windows Embedded Standard, I get the above error.

What does this error mean and how do I get around it?

This was solved by updating the scanner drivers.
