We are proud to announce the release of new major version 9.1 of VintaSoft Imaging .NET SDK and the related Annotation, PDF, JBIG2, JPEG2000, Document Cleanup, OCR, DICOM, Forms Processing and Office Plug-ins.


What's new in VintaSoft Imaging .NET SDK:
  • .NET development
    • Supported platforms:
      • Added the support for WPF and WinForms in .NET Core 3 for Windows.
        Created the following .NET Core assemblies:
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.UI.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Wpf.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Wpf.UI.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Media.dll
      • Created the following .NET Framework assemblies:
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.UI.dll
    • View images in WinForms:
      • WinForms controls (ImageViewer, ThumbnailViewer, etc) are moved from Vintasoft.Imaging.dll assembly to Vintasoft.Imaging.UI.dll assembly.
      • Improved the thumbnail selection in ThumbnailViewer class.
    • Work with image and document files:
      • Added the ability to specify a password for PDF file in DecoderBase and ImageCollection classes.
    • Demo applications:
      • Created WPF and WinForms demo applications (ImagingDemo, DocumentViewerDemo, PrintDemo, etc) for .NET Core.
      • Added the ability to comment annotations of images in DocumentViewerDemo and WpfDocumentViewerDemo demo applications.

What's new in VintaSoft Annotation .NET Plug-in:
  • .NET development
    • Supported platforms:
      • Added the support for WPF and WinForms in .NET Core 3 for Windows.
        Created the following .NET Core assemblies:
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Annotation.UI.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Annotation.Wpf.UI.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Annotation.Dicom.Wpf.UI.dll
      • Created the following .NET Framework assemblies:
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Annotation.UI.dll
    • Added the ability to add comments to annotations of image or document in WinForms/WPF image viewer:
      • add and remove comment or reply
      • create comment threads
      • set state for comment or reply
      • display comments on image viewer or in application interface
    • View images with annotations in WinForms:

      • Added the ability to rotate rectangle-based graphics figures (Rectangle, Ellipse, TextBox, FormXObject, Image, VintasoftImage) in WinForms/WPF image viewer.
    • Process a PDF page:
      • Added new PDF page processing commands: PdfColorBlendCommand, PdfPageColorBlendingCommand, PdfDesaturateCommand.
    • Demo applications:
      • Created WPF and WinForms demo applications (PdfEditorDemo, PdfReaderDemo, etc) for .NET Core.
  • Web development
    • Added the ability to apply redaction marks to PDF document in web image viewer.
    • Added many improvements in viewing and filling of PDF interactive fields in web image viewer.
    • Demo applications:
      • Created new web demo application - PdfEditorDemo, which demonstrates how to view PDF document and apply redaction marks to PDF pages. Web demo application PdfReaderDemo removed.

What's new in VintaSoft DICOM .NET Plug-in:
  • .NET development
    • Supported platforms:
      • Added the support for WPF and WinForms in .NET Core 3 for Windows.
        Created the following .NET Core assemblies:
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Dicom.UI.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Dicom.Wpf.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Dicom.Mpr.UI.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.Dicom.Mpr.Wpf.UI.dll
    • Optimized the parsing of DICOM files. The average time of DICOM loading was decreased up to 30%.
    • Demo applications:
      • Created WPF and WinForms DicomViewerDemo application for .NET Core.

What's new in VintaSoft Forms Processing .NET Plug-in:
  • .NET development
    • Supported platforms:
      • Added the support for WPF and WinForms in .NET Core 3 for Windows.
        Created the following .NET Core assemblies:
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.FormsProcessing.UI.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.FormsProcessing.Wpf.dll
        • Vintasoft.Imaging.FormsProcessing.Ocr.UI.dll

      • Created the following .NET Framework assemblies:

        • Created new console demo application - FormsProcessingConsoleDemo, which demonstrates how to recognize a form by template or align an image according to the template image.

What's new in this version of VintaSoft PDF .NET Plug-in:
  • Improved the algorithm that generates appearance of digital signature. Algorithm is improved for compatibility with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Improved the algorithm that calculates the text size in PDF interactive fields with automatic text size. Algorithm is improved for compatibility with Adobe Acrobat.
    vImproved parser of Type1 fonts.
  • Minor improvements in PDF JavaScript interpreter.
  • Fixed the bug in algorithm that renders symbols of Type1 font.

What's new in this version of VintaSoft PDF .NET Plug-in:
  • Added the ability to verify digital signature with embedded timestamp in PDF document.
  • Added the ability to add digital signature with embedded timestamp to PDF document.
  • Added the ability to create a PDF go-to action that allows to jump to a destination in another PDF file (PdfEmbeddedGotoAction class).
  • Added the ability to create a PDF go-to action that allows to jump to or from a PDF file that is embedded into another PDF file (PdfEmbeddedGotoAction class).
  • Now PDF/A-1 verifier does not check PdfTriggers.RealNumberTooSmallPositive and PdfTriggers.RealNumberTooSmallNegative triggers for compatibility with other PDF/A-1 verifiers.
  • Now PDF/A converter packs the embedded PDF fonts. This behaviour can be changed using PdfAConverter.PackEmbeddingFonts property.
  • Fixed the bug in PDF JavaScript interpreter.
  • Demo applications:
    • PDF Editor Demo: Added the ability to verify digital signature with embedded timestamp in PDF document.

Version 9.1.1.1 of VintaSoft Imaging .NET SDK has been released.

What's new in this version of VintaSoft Imaging .NET SDK:
  • Added the support for .NET 5 Preview 6.
  • End of support for .NET Core 3.0, now the SDK supports .NET Core 3.1. The support for .NET Core 3.0 is dropped off because starting from May 3, 2020 Microsoft ended the support for .NET Core 3.0 and the information about this fact appeared on Microsoft's web site: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/platform/support/policy/dotnet-core. If you are our client and you still need the support for .NET Core 3.0, please contact us to discuss the situation.
  • End of support for .NET Framework 4.0, 4.5 and 4.5.1, now the SDK supports .NET Framework 4.8, 4.7, 4.6, 4.5.2 and 3.5. The support for .NET Framework 4.0, 4.5 and 4.5.1 is dropped off because starting from January 12, 2016 Microsoft ended the support for .NET Framework 4.0, 4.5 and 4.5.1 and the information about this fact appeared on Microsoft's web site: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/faq/dotnet-framework. What's new in this version of VintaSoft Annotation .NET Plug-in:
  • Added the ability to override the algorithm that renders angle arc for AngleAnnotation.

What's new in this version of VintaSoft PDF .NET Plug-in:
  • Created new methods - PdfInkAnnotationAppearanceGenerator.DrawAppearance and PdfInkAnnotationAppearanceGenerator.CreateAppearancePath, which allow to override the algorithm that renders appearance of PdfInkAnnotation.
